About Past Works Recycling Plant

Past Works Recycling Plant is a night of 'recycled’ performance, curated by artist duo Emergency Chorus. Expect reworked and remixed material, whirlwind retrospectives, undocumented gems, discarded ideas, or the very first work an artist made 10, 20, 30 years ago.

The night is a celebration of the ways that artists change and remain constant; how artists’ work is always composted and fed back to itself. It’s an invitation to time-travel, to make room for the unseen, the almost-forgotten, the scribblings-in-the-margins, the what-was-was-there-all-along. We say: out with the new, and in with the old!

About Emergency Chorus

We are Ben Kulvichit (he/him) and Clara Potter-Sweet (they/them), and we make performance together under the name Emergency Chorus.

Our pieces are often collage-like and drawn from wide-ranging research, sitting across contemporary theatre, live art, dance and social practice. Our work is rooted in ecological thinking, examining the ways all things - technology, culture, nature, work, politics, identity - are entangled.

Since 2016, we have created and performed our work at/with venues and organisations including Warwick Arts Centre, Cambridge Junction, Old Diorama Arts Centre, Bristol Old Vic, New Diorama, Camden People’s Theatre and BBC R&D.
