Pollination is the transfer of pollen from one plant to another, enabling fertilization and the creation of new seeds. It’s nature’s way of saying: collaboration breeds new life.
Ensemble Not Found and Halfpace Theatre are putting together three pairs of artists from different disciplines – who have never worked together before – to embark on a collaborative journey.
Cross Pollination will offer them an opportunity to share their discoveries and newly planted seeds as part of a scratch showcase. The night also includes a networking event to encourage audiences and artists alike to continue making connections and foster new pairings.
Halfpace Theatre is an award-winning, migrant-led interdisciplinary theatre company. Our work is visually distinct and emotionally charged, powered by an international ensemble. Through devising, we interrogate the relationship between embodied storytelling, design, audience and space, creating pieces which are physical, atmospheric, dynamic and unexpected.Alongside our artistic work, we are fiercely dedicated to supporting marginalised artists. Our community engagement branch includes free workshops, panels, producing support, networking opportunities, paid trainee roles and new work development opportunities in partnership with organisations across the UK.
Ensemble Not Found (ENF) is a theatre collective of five interdisciplinary first-generation ESEA artists. With our non-hierarchical, devising led approach, we unite our diverse strength to create bold, sensual and genuine original performances that speak to what’s urgent to us. We believe that by unraveling the personal, we’re pressing for the universal. In our journey to find the right form and voice, we blend elements, break rules and defy genres.
