As expressed when you applied to join the community, it is a requirement for all CDS artists, staff, and trustees engage in anti-racism training. This is crucial to ensure our ecosystem is a more inclusive place for artists who experience racism and colourism.

We recognise that for black and brown people this work carries additional labour, and we encourage you to listen to your own needs and experiences when participating in the webinars.

CDS have commissioned three webinars by artist Season Butler, can be completed in your own time, at your own pace. Each session offers moments for you to pause the video, write and reflect.

We ask that you complete the webinar series by the end of Jan 2026.

These training webinars were created by Season Butler

Season Butler is a writer, artist and dramaturg. She thinks a lot about youth and old age; solitude and community; negotiations with hope and what it means to look forward to an increasingly wily future. Her debut novel, Cygnet, was published in 2019 and won the 2020 Writers’ Guild Award for Best First Novel. She lives in Berlin and is currently a fellow of the Berlin Artistic Research Grant Programme, Berliner Förderprogramm Künstlerische Forschung.
